PADI IDC Staff Instructor
The PADI IDC Staff Instructor Course allows Master Scuba Diver Trainers to gain the relevant additional skills and techniques necessary to staff PADI Instructor Development Programs. The course utilises the candidates' existing abilities as a dive educator and further develops these along with evaluation and counselling skills. Once certified, PADI IDC Staff Instructors are authorized to independently teach and certify PADI Assistant Instructors as well as during an IDC: Evaluate and critique instructor candidate knowledge development, confined water and open water teaching presentations Provide counselling and remedial training for instructor candidates and IDC Staff Instructor candidates. Assist with training during instructor level training programs such as PADI Specialty Instructor Training courses. Conduct training segments under the direct supervision of a PADI Course Director To attend an IDC Staff Instructor course you will need to be a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer in teaching status (for the current year).
The IDC Staff course is held over two days (prior to the IDC) and candidates will then audit the following IDC. Auditing the IDC allows the candidate to apply and practice evaluation skills gained during IDC Staff course.
